Germinating cannabis seeds, how do you do that?

There are a number of ways to germinate your cannabis seeds. In this blog, I am going to explain 3 ways to germinate your cannabis seeds. In any case, the seed does not need light to germinate. What he does need is a humid environment.

3 ways to germinate your cannabis seeds:

  • Cannabis seeds germinate on a moist surface
  • Cannabis seeds germinate in water
  • Cannabis seeds germinate in soil

Cannabis seeds germinate on a moist surface

Place the cannabis seeds on a surface that retains moisture. For example kitchen paper or toilet paper on a saucer. It is important that you moisten this surface well, but make sure that it does not get too wet. At room temperature, the moisture in the substrate evaporates very quickly, so make sure that the substrate remains moist during the period that the cannabis seeds are germinating. The moisture that absorbs into the seeds ensures that the seed is activated and therefore germinates. You can still cover the seeds with a piece of cling film, so that it will brew in the saucer. This also ensures that the surface remains moist.

Cannabis seeds germinate in water

If you are going to germinate cannabis seeds in water, it is important that the temperature in the room is at least 20 degrees. If this is not the case, the seeds will not / not germinate optimally. Fill a cup with water and put your seeds in it. After 2 to 4 days, the seeds should pop open, and you can see the root. If the root is visible, you can immediately put the germinated seeds in the ground. Tuck the seeds into the soil about 0.5 – 1 centimeter with the rootlet down. The stem that comes out of the cannabis seed immediately after sprouting is not the plant, but the root. It is best to put the carrot in the ground facing down. This way your plant will find its way down a bit easier.

Cannabis seeds germinate in soil

You can also just put the cannabis seed directly in a pot with soil. Every plant knows that it has to grow upwards. However, it appears that the chance that the cannabis seeds actually germinate in the soil is somewhat smaller than in the other ways.
